KNOWLEDGE RESOURCE CENTER WORKING SCHEDULED

                    1. Working Days 6 days in week excluding holidays

                    2. Working hours 8.30am to 5.30pm

ISSUES PER DAY

     Senior nearly -170  Per day students & faculty members visit to the library 147 staff members can borrow books & periodicals as per their need. Current periodicals are not issued.

HOLIDAYS:-

       On every Sunday and government holidays and local holidays library working section and reading will closed.

BOOK CIRCULATION:-

         Monday to Saturday as per book circulation time table scheduled between 8.am to 4.pm.  

 ACTIVITIES:-

1) THE LIBRARY BLOG ACTIVITY:-

             Shikshanmaharshi Dr.Bapuji Salunkhe College Library Blog activities main goal is to share knowledge and promote library services to the student. The blog writing is an extension activity. It is an important part of library services marketing. Library blogs are helpful to attract the users at the library services.

 2) BOOK EXHIBITION ACTIVITY:-

           Library book exhibition it is not just activity, it is a marketing strategy to attract and make aware the student about the reading collection and new arrivals what is the important sources are available in the library. In the annual year library has been organizing library book exhibition on different topic and on different occasion. In one academic year, library has organized minimum 2 to 3 book exhibition for the library users. Every time it represents specific theme and display the special collection according it.

3) “15 OCT VACHAN PRERNA DIN”

'READING INSPIRATION DAY' or 'वाचन प्रेरणा दिवस'

                  Reading is dreaming with open eyes: as declared by the Government of Maharashtra, every educational institute celebrates October 15th as 'READING INSPIRATION DAY' or 'VACHAN PRERNA DIWAS' on the occasion of the birth anniversary of the great scientist and former president of India - Dr. APJ ABDUL KALAM. On this specific day through the reading hour, expert lecture, book review, book exhibition, etc. The activities main intention is to promote and develop reading culture among the student.

4) ORIENTATION PROGRAM

Purpose of Library Orientation Program for the Student

             Shikshan Maharshi Dr.BapujiSalunkhe College Library has been organizing every year library Orientation program for fresher’s and newly admitted student in the college. The purpose of this activity is to promote and an introduce library services and facilities. The program also touches on academic integrity the art of database searching.

5) 17 Jan “Dnyanshidori Book Donation” Program

               Shikshan Maharshi Dr.Bapuji Salunkhe College Library has been organizing every year “Book Donation program” on 17^th Jan. On the occasion of Our Santh’s Chairperson Principal Abhaykumar Salunkhe on his birth Anniversary. College teaching staff gifting quality books to library according to this activity.

LIBRARY SOFTWEAR- OPAC

1) VIDYASAGAR (OPAC):-

               The library at Shikshanmaharshi Dr. Bapuji Salunkhe College is partially automated through an Integrated Library Management Software (ILMS) called Vidyasagar. This software is developed by Easy and Useful, based in Kolhapur, Maharashtra. Vidyasagar ILMS offers various modules, including Masters, book management with barcode facility, book accession membership circulation, Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC), cataloguing, and administrative features like database backup and restore facilities, as well as book reservation options. With the help of Vidyasagar, the library can easily manage the status of books, including those that have been withdrawn, written off, damaged, lost, or paid for. The software is connected to a vast collection of over 11,31,000 books and serves more than 60 college libraries' OPACs, making it a comprehensive and efficient tool for library management.

2) LIBRARY SOFTWARE:-

 —  College library has using Vidyasagar software to make library computerization.

 —  library using I-card as a Library card for the process of book circulation through library Software

 —  In This Software we can search OPAC to related colleges with support of book title, subject, author, subtitle, and accession number.

 —  All participant college libraries can share their OPAC on the Internet through this project.

 —  All regarding details of book circulation, student teachers report, OPAC , Book Search, total number of books subject wise,   department wise, and source wise can easily available in the software.

 3) INTERNET FCILITY FOR STUDENTS AND TEACHERS

         In the library 7 computers with 100 Mbps optical fiber cabal line. LAN and power back facilities are available. The details of computer are as follow.

The library provides helpful web link and free e- resources in PDF format.
