Department Profile Botany
The department was established in year 1974, today, the department has has progressed and flourished academically. Presently the department offers a three year undergraduate B. Sc. Botany course with Plant protection subject for B. Sc. second year.
The Department aims toward providing students with essential information and the application of scientific methods, skills, and attitudes through the use of traditional and modern tools in order for them to comprehend everything about plants. Students empowered towards achieving success through scientific culture and skills. To meet the demands of the times and contribute to the transformation towards a Knowledge-based society.
We concentrate on exploration, conservation, and novel study on plants and their habitats. To foster learning culture by teaching students the fundamentals of plant science, its components, and the emerging developments that will benefit science and the nation’s upcoming generations.

1. Teaching more practical oriented; learning by seeing & learning by doing , so the subject is made more interesting and easier to grasp.
2. Whenever possible, plants are being studied in their natural habitat by outdoor excursions.
3. Project based learning is undertaken.
4. Students are encouraged for frequent interaction & their feedbacks are taken.
5. cultivate character, self-confidence, and a lifelong passion for learning in students.
