Department at A Glance
The Department of Geography was founded in 1972 with the objective of providing educational and research programs in the field of Geography. Geography is a distinctive discipline that integrates elements from the social sciences, natural and physical sciences, and technology. In a remarkably brief period, the department has evolved into a robust discipline and can rightfully assert itself as one of the few Geography Departments in the state that has made a notable mark in Physical Geography. The department has now acquired the essential infrastructure for both teaching and research activities. It is noteworthy that alumni from the department are currently employed in esteemed institutions, including various national organizations and prestigious corporate entities such as Rolta-India, Satyam, TCS, Infosys, Infotech, etc. Additionally, many alumni have found positions in several universities, both within the state and across the country
