WOMEN EMPOWERMENT
ABOUT
The Women Empowerment Cell in our college is established to empower girl students and staffs and to enhance their understanding of issues related to woman in the society and to face the challenge with great courage. The goal of the cell is to bring about the advancement development and empowerment of women. This cell creates a feel in them that our college campus is a haven and second home to them. The cell functions arduously to enhance their status and thereby empower them through Guest Lectures, Seminars, Workshops, Legal Awareness Programme, Health Awareness Programme, Yoga, Karate and Martial Art Training Programmes and other welfare activities.

To train women to acquire wide range of skills and knowledge and to develop and increase their Social, Economic and Intellectual Capacities for Peace, Security and Prosperity of mankind
OBJECTIVES
v To empower girls through education and strengthen them with social values and ethical principles.
v To promote a culture of respect and equality for women.
v The provision of opportunities and programs for women to be financially, psychologically and emotionally empowered to promote their growth as individuals in their own right.
To sensitize all the students and staff regarding gender equality, feminine sensibility and susceptibility of women in the context of Indian society.

WOMEN EMPOWERMENT INITIATIVES
“Woman is considered the source of universal creations. She has been worshipped in Indian scriptures as Adimaya, Adishakti, Mahalaxmi, Mahasaraswati, Durgadevi and other Shaktidev embodying power and strength. Creativity and sustenance have been the activities of women power, which are focused through our Women Empowerment Cell”
The Context:
The practice is introduced with the aim of empowering girl students with Knowledge and various skills to make them employable and self-reliant. Women’s empowerment is an important issue for our society to insure the sustainable development. Sustainable development is impossible without development of women who from a major proportion of population. The majority of who came from rural background. Making girls financially independent is a major step towards women’s emancipation. The institution strives to make them aware of educational, social, economic, political and psychological challenges and make them competent to successfully tackle them. In this context the women empowerment cell has designed several programmes such as legal awareness programs, health and hygiene related program, skill development programs and training programs to develop employability and entrepreneurship among the girl students. ‘If you educate a boy, you educate an individual, if you educate a girl, you educate a whole nation’. Hence, the education plays a significant role in the empowerment of women

Evidence of Success:
During our best practices, the institute targets to empower women with higher education through its efforts. Consequently, the admission of female students increased. The institution has identified major changes in the attitude of girls’ students on various parameters overcome of shyness girls became self-continent and are able to express their views openly, more participation in class-wise seminars and extra-curricular activities, positive attitude, free interaction with teacher and other students.
The cell has maintained the paper and photo evidences. Video clippings, photos, media reports and annual reports in the college magazines are the documentary evidence maintain by the women empowerment cell.
